Copying
your Data and GemPro from one computer to another.
The procedure required to copy your database and GemPro
program is relatively straightforward but does require
the correct procedure.
It is preferable that the
new installation is located on the same drive letter and
with the same folder name as the original installation
as this makes the process simpler. The instructions
below assume that the new installation will retain the
same drive and folder structure.
Make a copy of your
Data and Settings
1. Copy the GemPro
program folder (usually
"GemPro") and all contents to a suitable
medium such as a writable CD disk or USB memory stick. If you are not sure where GemPro is installed, click
here.
2. If your data folder is
located in the GemPro folder (this is the default for a
new installation of GemPro) the you can skip this step.
If you have previously upgraded Market Manager to GemPro,
then your data may be located in a folder named "msdata". Copy
the data folder and all contents to a suitable medium
such as a writable CD disk or USB memory stick.
Restore your data to a
new drive or computer
3. Copy the GemPro
program folder from the CD or USB memory stick to the
destination computer. Please ensure you
retain the original drive and folder specification.
4. If you data is in a
separate folder as explained in step 2 then copy the
Data folder from the CD or USB memory stick to the
destination computer. Please ensure you retain the
original drive and folder specification.
