Maintain Data by Industry
Sector
A new feature added in
version 5.2.0+ is the ability to move all stocks for
an Industry or Sub-Industry group to a folder of your
choice. This feature enables you to maintain your
database by Industry Sector rather than the default
alphabetical folder groups.
Automatic Database
Repair feature
Market Manager version
5.1.4 or later has a self-repairing feature that will
automatically repairs a database that has missing data
files. This feature works automatically when
distributing new data and is transparent to the user.
During the distribution
process, Market Manager detects any missing data files
and when there is new trading data for the security in
question, a new data file is automatically created.
The "Too
Many Files" message is now handled
automatically.
Market Manager v.5.0 will now
automatically handle the "Too Many Files"
issue when the number of stocks exceed the limit of
255 stocks per folder. This new feature will eliminate
the problem completely by automatically creating new
folders as required. This new feature will give you
even more time to concentrate on your charting and
trading instead of maintaining your database.
Fundamental
Data
The release of Market Manager v.5.0
will enable you to collect fundamental data for ASX
stocks. The data is updated weekly and includes
Dividend Amounts, Ex-Dividend Dates, Earnings per
Share and other information indicated in the
illustration below.
To start receiving the
Fundamental Data stream you will need to fill
out the form on our website at to inform us that you
have installed the new version and are ready to start
receiving the fundamental data. Fundamental Data
is available for no additional cost to all clients who
collect the complete ASX data set. Due to technical
limitations, Fundamental Data is not available for
clients who collect a Custom Portfolio, Top 150 or Top
500 data set.
Fundamental Data Screen

New Features
Market Manager now has a new look
for the old Security Listing grid, which is now named
Portfolios and includes sections for World Exchanges,
Index Groups and your own customizable Charting
Groups.
The illustration below depicts the
World Exchanges’ section. New features include
customizable columns and shortcut icons for most
commonly used functions.

Improved Scan
Market tool
To see an overview of the current
day’s trading, click the Analysis menu item and
select Scan Market from the drop down list. You will
then have the option to list stocks that have closed
above or below a nominated percentage.
Index Groups
and Charting Groups
In addition to the World Exchange
grid, which lists stocks in code order, there is also
the new Index Groups listing that enables you to
quickly view the stocks in each industry sector. You
can also create your own custom group of stocks to
help you quickly review the trading activity of your
own portfolio.

Automate
Your Data Collection
Warning:
Please note that this utility will not
automatically terminate your Internet connection when
the data collection process is completed.
Therefore, we recommend that this feature is used in
conjunction with a permanent Internet connection only.
A new feature in Market Manager
enables you to automate your data collection and
processing. To set the time you would like to
automatically collect your data, click the Options
menu item and then click System from the drop down
list. To adjust the time settings, select Yes
for Auto Connect and click the Change Time button.

Adjust the time accordingly and
remember to save the settings on the System Options
window.
To activate the automatic collection
feature it is necessary to add Market Manager to the
Windows’ Task Scheduler so that Market Manager will
launch on a daily basis at the time you have set.
For information regarding adding a new task to the
Windows’ Task Scheduler, please refer to the
Windows’ Help facility.
Unless you already have an
established connection to the Internet, it will be
necessary to set the Windows’ Internet Options to
automatically dial your default connection. This
feature can be accessed from the Connections tab in
Internet Options, which can be launched from the
Windows’ Control Panel.
Small
Portfolios Not Supported
Market Manager version 5.0 is
compatible with the data stream for clients who
collect the Top 500 or Top 150 ASX stocks, but it does
not support the Small Portfolio feature of previous
versions. If you utilise the small portfolio
feature then please contact Almax
Support before installing version 5.0.
